Hell of a Fresh, What?

Henri Nouwen:

When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives means the most us,
we often find that it is those who,
instead of giving much advice, solutions, or cures,
have chosen rather to share our pain and
touch our wounds with a gentle and tender hand.
The friend who can be silent with us
in a moment of despair or confusion,
who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement,
who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing
and face with us the reality of our powerlessness,
that is a friend who cares.

  7. You bring your reality.
Life is good, for those that have eyes to see.
    Ears to hear.
    so on and so forth.

  8. back after a nasty few weeks of treading water at work ...
great stuff over the past few posts, as usual, and with the usual scintillating commentary; this post was quite lovely... tenderness and authenticity ring through.
    thanks

  9. Some days, one just does not want to argue, about it all.
You win, ok, with a loud, over rideing voice calling one names, (did I spell overriding correct??)
    you win.
Me, I just want a friend to sit and listen and not call me names or pray to bring down god's judgement, and just maybe, Just maybe help me understand it all.
Maybe that is Enlightenment, or not.
