Juxtaposition 11/3/11 Who dat?

So let’s see what tomorrow brings.  The following is a response to comments of the last post.

Mr. Charleston…billboards and gas stations are the cause celebre of the taxpayer funded Interstate road system instituted by Ike. Nation Security and all.  This is your republican bought governance in action.

JadedJ…thank you for the positive feedback.  The spirit of the Suwanee was all ‘round.  Even on the doors of the port-o-let, I did not want to take a photo ‘cause the fuzz might be looking.  (no kidding)
“April is the cruelest month.”  Mr. Eliot was right.
Good Eye on the Race Trac, sometime it all comes together.  I am blessed.
“If you can’t say something good about someone don’t say anything.”

Here are some more photos, with a few comments.

This is for Mr. Chuck.

  Mona? Ya Wanta?

These next two go together.  The full quote is:
Hatred is a very underestimated emotion.

She was cute.

JJ this is April up close.  Turns out she is a dead head.

 Donna was on the way.

 The Power of Love.

JJ, well, ahem, you tell me.

Juxtaposition 11/1/11 Day late and a dollar short.

I was gonna post this yesterday 11/1/11 but well you know how that all goes, but the date was just too cool for school.  So here I am handing in my paper late.
(mean Donna, you still there? (Mr. Chuck is the type face large enough for you poor eyes? (JJ jump in anytime)))
Some days I just don't want to talk.

The Stones have a song from back in the day, called under assistant west coast promo man.  I on occasion identify with that song.
"I'm sitting here thinking just how sharp I am."
I would suggest if you don't feel like that at least once or twice a year, well, keep at it bro.
You’ll get there.

Anyway in the last 3 weeks I have been makin' photographs to beat the band.  I have taken over 4300 exposures.  Daz Right 43 hundred Plus.  If that were film the cost would be approx. 4300X30 more or less you run the numbers.  (Cost of film plus processing) That's in dollars U$$$$S pal.  No wonder Kodak is closing the shop. So on and so forth, but, but, Big George Eastman had a good run and his granddaughter, greatgranddaughter? Linda Got to marry Paul Beatle.  Not a bad gift to the world.  So here is the deal: with my kind of volume, coupled with Ansel's admonition that a photographer makes about 10 good photographs a year.  I should be in line for 10 good photos this year, just in back of the blind hogs. (chuckle)  Let's see.
My plan, if it works out is to just post images for the next few or so updates with out commentary, unless the spirit so moves.
Mr. Charleston, and Mr. JJ and the people they encourage will comment (I hope) and if not well that is ok too.
I have a lot of photos.
And I am learning to be patient and living without positive feedback.

To Witt: a few photographs.

These were taken at Magnolia Fest up in Live Oak, Florida.  October 20-23-2011.
A small lifetime. I recommend it for all.

Rising to the Bait 10-27-11

My dear Friend, (not a corporation) has offered up another platter, that may contain perhaps the head of John the Baptist, but just like Salome I rose, no pun, to the occasion.

The Campus of Florida Southern College is a still point in my turning universe and will remain so.

As I walked around the grounds with Mr. Charleston, he shared with me that this was his first visit to Florida Southern. I said oh.

I was in a state of grace, no other way to ‘splane it.  I am student of Wright and studied under a master of Mr. Wright.  As I sat in the chapels I came to a fuller understanding of my Mentor Mr. Robert Charles Broward and his love and appreciation of Frank Lloyd Wright.

These were quiet moments, alone.  I recommend this to anyone.  If you find yourself alone in one of these chapels, sit, be still and know that God will visit.

Yeah, yeah!!! Let’s see the photographs.

Post Cards from the Edge of the Mirror. Wish you were here.

This post is spinning off  Mr. Charleston's October 18, 2011 post.
We spent the day in Lakeland, Florida visiting the Mirror Lake Classic Car and Boat Show.  Vintage Cars and Boats around and on the Lake, with late model cars up the road a piece, in downtown Lakeland.  When we go to shows like this it is understood when we get out of the car and begin to look around that it is everyman for himself.  Phone contact 'round lunch time or closing.  Other than that it is always enjoyable to compare notes over dinner, later.  We are usually please with how close we come to honing in on the same cars and attendees.  On occasion I'll see something he did not and of course he sees something that I wish I had seen.  So here is my approximation of what he saw.

The Lake at Night.

I thought she was a bit over dressed.  The mook is perhaps another model?

The Skyline

This was just too too.  Well he did have on a tutu so I guess it was ok.

Lakeland is the Home of the Grand Imperial Wizard.

Now Mr. Charleston said this belonged to some famous guy. But I coudda swore It was owned by Casey Stingle who gave to Enos Slaughter.  I could be wrong.

Ok this is for Intelliwench and WeinerDog Wednesday.

The campus of Florida Southern College.  The building in the background was not approved by Mr. Wright, he had been dead for about 40 years by then.  If he had not been this would have put him over the edge.  I sorta like it in an odd way.

Ah Yes the Brewster Watering Hole.  Well, you should have been there back in the day.  US 37 just south of Lakeland.

This is the political machine that the Tea Party wants to take us home in.
